Privacy policy
Protecting your personal information is part of our profession. Here, in plain terms, is how we collect, use and protect it. Last updated: October 10, 2026.
ASW Services comptables (“we”) is an accounting firm led by Abdelmajid Bour, CPA, a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. As CPAs, we are bound by professional secrecy. This policy applies to the personal information we collect in the course of our services and through our website, in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the version française prevails.
1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
The person in charge of the protection of personal information is Abdelmajid Bour, CPA. For any question, access request, withdrawal request or complaint, you can reach this person:
- by email: info@bourcpa.ca
- by phone: (514) 961-7689
- by mail: 3333 Boulevard du Souvenir, Suite 103, Laval, Quebec H7V 1X1
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed for the services you entrust to us, including:
- your contact information: name, address, phone number, email;
- the information required for your returns and files: social insurance number, income, tax slips, information about your family or business, financial documents;
- the information provided when booking online (see section 5).
This information is collected directly from you, with your consent, or from the tax authorities when you authorize us to do so. Our website has no forms: it does not itself collect information about you.
3. Why we use it
Your information is used to:
- provide the services requested: bookkeeping, income tax returns, GST/QST, payroll, tax advice;
- manage your appointments and communicate with you;
- meet our legal, tax and professional obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we never sell it.
4. Our website and cookies
- Our website does not place any cookies and does not use any audience measurement, advertising or profiling tools.
- Your “Reduce animations” preference, the situation you choose in our tools (employee, self-employed…) and the boxes you tick in the “Documents to prepare” checklist are stored only in your browser; they are not sent to us, and you can erase them by clearing your browsing data.
- The “Ask a question” tool searches our answers directly in your browser: the questions you type are not sent to us and are not stored. The “Write to us” button prepares an email in your own email program; nothing is sent without your action.
- Our website is hosted by GoDaddy, on servers located in the United States. The host keeps technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) to ensure the security and proper operation of the site.
- The Google map on the About page loads only if you click “Show Google map”. Before that click, no data is sent to Google. After it, Google may collect data under its own privacy policy.
- The calendar on the Booking page is provided by Microsoft (see the next section).
5. Online booking
Our appointment calendar is provided by Microsoft Bookings (Microsoft 365). When you book, the information you enter (name, email, phone number, service chosen and, if you wish, a note) is collected by ASW Services comptables and hosted by Microsoft on our behalf. It is used only to schedule your appointment and to send you the confirmation and reminders.
When the Booking page is displayed, Microsoft may place cookies required for the calendar to work. If you prefer, you can also book by phone.
For your security, never enter sensitive information (social insurance number, banking details) in the booking note: we will ask for it securely if needed.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We disclose your information only with your consent or where the law permits or requires it, for example:
- to the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec, to file your returns;
- to suppliers who help us provide our services (Microsoft 365 and Bookings, accounting and tax software, website hosting by GoDaddy), bound by confidentiality commitments;
- to the Ordre des CPA du Québec, as part of professional inspection.
Some of these suppliers may store data outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada or in the United States. Before doing so, we assess whether the information will receive adequate protection there, as required by law.
7. Published testimonials
The testimonials shown on our website come from public reviews posted on Google. We display only the first name and last initial of their authors. On the English site, they are translated from French. If you wrote one of these reviews and would like it removed from our website, write to us: we will remove it promptly.
8. Retention and security
We keep your information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, then for the period required by tax laws and by the rules of our professional order. It is then securely destroyed.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: access limited to staff who need it, passwords and authentication, backups, and a confidentiality commitment from our team. Our website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and has no forms or database.
9. Your rights
At any time, you may:
- ask to see the information we hold about you;
- ask that it be corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent, subject to our legal obligations;
- ask that your computerized information be provided to you in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Send your request in writing to the person in charge (section 1). We will respond within 30 days.
10. Complaints
To file a complaint about the protection of your personal information, write to the person in charge (section 1) describing the situation. We acknowledge receipt of your complaint, review it and respond in writing within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (opens in a new tab).
11. Confidentiality incidents
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the persons concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, and we will keep a register of incidents, as required by law.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. Last updated: October 10, 2026.
